You get what u paid for and more location is within 2 minutes from Coral island and 5 mins from the Tower good tea , coffee cereal selection just be aware of parking costs
Good for one night room I stayed in doesn't have opening window and is hot in October so wouldn't like to be in there in summer. Close to seafront and arcades not very pram/buggy friendly as lots of stairs. Other guests are very rude when trying to get upstairs with two young kids and they have to wait.
Has been refurbished so looks really nice and clean, nice rooms. Amazing service very friendly owner. Best place we have stayed in blackpool, good location as well close to everything :) 100% recommend staying here!!
Ideal place to crash for the night. Decor is a little dated and no brew stuff in room, but the room was clean and warm even though we were on the top floor and it was a very windy cold night. Mike and Dale who manage the place are 2 of friendliest blokes about and are credit to the business.
I've stayed in this hotel around 5 or 6 times. I always stop here when me and the lads have our annual Blackpool weekend away from the women! The rooms are clean and tidy. It's not the Ritz but us lads only need somewhere to rest our head after a full day drinking! The service is brilliant and the owners are really friendly. The hotel bar is usually open when we crawl back at 3-4am with our kebab which means we usually end the night with a pint or 2 in the hotel :-) The room usually costs us £25 each and considering it the location I think that is a bargain. The Castle pub is literally 30 seconds outside of the door and the town is a minute further. It doesn't look the best from the outside but don't let that put you off.
We had an amazing 7-night stay in a triple room in this hotel which is run so well. The owners could not do more to help us and make our stay even better. We had been let down by another hotel and were very lucky to be offered this room in the Almar which is located very centrally, nearly opposite Coral island. We parked just across the road and were helped with our luggage to the top floor. The room was clean and the beds were extremely comfy. Little noise could be heard from outside the hotel. I would highly recommend this hotel. Thanks very much to the owners for making us so welcome.
I stayed with my three boys for a couple of nights for new year. The hotel was good and the staff were very friendly. We were on the top floor and the room was just right for us. Some may find it cosy but I liked it. We had an en-suite but I know some of the rooms have a separate shared toilet. Overall I would stay again but, I might stay when I'm on my own. That's a lot of stairs with kids if you are on the top floor.
Love the owners! The man was so friendly. The Almar hotel is the best place to stay in blackpool. Besides the great accommodation you are next to the town. A 24 hour McDonald's is a 5 minute walk away. Here you are next to the trams that take you to all the sights in blackpool. I would go to the Almar again. 4 stars because we were at the very top. We had to run up and down the stairs multiple times a day. But I would just call and ask for a different room next time
